Q: Who is “Change That Name“?
A: Change That Name is a citizens group of veterans, families and supporters. We are non-partisan and do not accept donations of any kind.
Q: Is this some kind of political thing?
A: Not at all. Change That Name is all about honoring Military men and women, past and present. No politics, no solicitations for donations.
Our citizens should be reminded of the price of their freedom and that dictatorial emperors and Nazi fascists were stopped from overrunning the Pacific countries, all of Europe and Northern Africa. Even the United States’ borders were threatened and only because of brave men and women like Doolittle, Chuck Yeager, Ted Williams, Manila John Basilone were the Axis countries stopped.
At the exact time that Frank Lautenberg’s name went on the new rail station in 2003, American men and women who had answered their nation’s call post 9-11 were fighting, dying and bringing democracy to Afghanistan and Iraq, following a proud tradition of the veterans of Vietnam, Korea, Lebanon and countless other conflicts. Q: Will my name go on some other list and be sold to telemarketers?
A: No. We have a pretty good Privacy Policy here.
Q: How much will changing the name cost the taxpayers?
A: Each cause is different, but we expect that after private support, it won’t cost taxpayers much.
Q: I have another name I want to change – can you help?
A: Email us at editor[at]changethatname.com
